We commented last year on the changing nature of Mini Gun ownership and how the major players had all taken positions in Mini Gun centres. This year the point is emphasised. A look at the Top 20 (on any table) shows the likes of Stockland, Mirvac, Charter Hall, Lendlease, Vicinity, DEXUS, SCA et al!

Mini Gun centres are now the province of the major shopping centre players and their entry, in the main, has been over the last half-decade or so.

In 2010 we listed around the same number of centres as this year – 141 against 145 – so number 70 is approximately halfway for both. In 2010 the GLA of number 70 was 12,863m2 (Arana Hills Kmart Plaza), similar to number 70 today at 12,561m2 (Bathurst City Centre), so we’re comparing like with like.
