St Collins Lane officially opens

Melbourne’s famed Collins Street precinct has welcomed a new destination for luxury international and local brands as St Collins Lane officially opens its doors.

In what represents a $30-million redevelopment of the former Australia on Collins site, St Collins Lane has succeeded in bringing a number of coveted overseas brands to Australian soil, many for the first time.

Paris fashion brands, Sandro Paris and Maje, along with cult UK label REISS, have joined a number of major luxury brands including TAG Heuer and Coach, who occupy the Collins Street flagship stores, as well as Furla, Zadig & Voltaire and The Kooples, among many more.

Designed by ARM Architects for LaSalle Investment Management, the new precinct is contemporary in its approach, while drawing references and inspiration from Melbourne’s oldest arcades.

“St Collins Lane is intended to become a part of Melbourne’s diverse identity, being different things to different people: a laneway for city workers to walk through on their way to work, a place to stop and get a coffee, somewhere to meet a friend for a drink or dinner after work, and of course a luxury fashion destination to access the best brands from around the world,” ARM Architecture’s Neil Masterton said.
