Westfield has declared this Spring 2019 the season of ‘Revival’, with the release of a fashion-led music video that showcases 80s, 90s and noughties inspired seasonal trends from Australian and international designers. Mod patterns, fluoro, metallic fabrics, bold accessories are all back this spring according to Westfield brand centres, owned and managed by Scentre Group.

The ‘Revival’ campaign draws on the cultural rise of ‘retro’, throwing back to fashion favourites of years past and captures the energy of spring rejuvenation. Produced by Anna Mannix for Revolver under the directon of Leilani Croucher, a cast of talented dancers from a broad range of backgrounds and ages feature in the music video, celebrating the diversity of the Westfield customer. The track is a remix of Technotronic’s 1989 hit ‘Get Up (Before The Night Is Over)’ which was mastered by Otis Studios.

Hispanic Michael Marmolejos; one of Australia’s best breakdancers, steals the stage with a baby freeze and double flip in the main video edit. Bhenji Ra; Sydney-based trans icon, and trans woman, Fetu Taku showcase the voguing phenomenon – the 80’s modern house dance synonymous with the LGBTQI community. While 61-year-old Sheree Zellner; an ex-principal dancer with The Australian Ballet, Chaînés in a solo.

Speaking about the significance of ‘Revivial’ this Spring, Westfield Stylist Joey Romano, said “Nostalgia is having a moment right now. Trends thought to have been left in the past are having unexpected fashion comebacks. Brands are digging up old looks from their archives and evolving to what were currently seeing in stores at Westfield”.

The ‘Revival’ campaign features bold colours, textures and silhouettes from Australian and international designers including Alice McCall, Bec & Bridge, Sass & Bide, Levis, Veja, Sportsgirl, Zara, H&M, Prada, Furla and MJ Bale.

Key seasonal trends shot for the season campaign include;
An eclectic mix of clashing mod patterns including stripes, herringbone and plaid;
Muted hues from oranges to yellowish-browns and flat blues;
Structured tailoring;
Metallic fabrics and embellishments;
Vintage denim;
Sports luxe
