Scentre Group, together with the Australian Olympic Committee and Paralympics Australia, today announced Westfield as the official partner of the Australian Olympic and Paralympic teams.

The strategic partnership will see all 37 Westfield destinations across Australia transform into official Live Sites for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. From July, customers can visit their local Westfield centre to enjoy dedicated live-streams of key events and matches direct from Paris as well as enjoy Olympic and Paralympic themed events, live music and more.

Scentre Group Chief Executive Officer, Elliott Rusanow said this strategic partnership is about building community connection and creating more reasons for customers to visit and spend time at their local Westfield.

“Our Westfield destinations are community hubs, places people choose to visit to connect and spend their time.

“With the countdown to the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games underway, we’re proud to announce Westfield as the official team partner of the Australian Olympic and Paralympic teams.

“From July, we will be giving Australians here at home the opportunity to come together and cheer on their favourite athletes.

“All 37 Westfield destinations will transform into official Live Sites and open for more hours of the day, including in the early hours of the morning, when many events and matches will be happening live.

“We’re excited to expand on the range of experiences already available at our Westfield destinations with Live Sites a new and unique way for people to spend their time.

“We’re looking forward to turning our Westfield destinations into the local games village with plenty of green and gold to celebrate with our customers from next month,” said Rusanow.

Australian Olympic Committee Chief Executive Officer Matt Carroll said the partnership with Westfield will bring the drama and excitement of the Paris Olympics to millions of Australians.

“Our Australian Olympic athletes represent their country with enormous pride and this partnership really brings home that sense of support from communities across the country.

“We are very excited about this Live Site partnership with Westfield with 34 Olympic sports on display across the two weeks of the Paris 2024 Games. Our thanks to Westfield for providing this vibrant link between the athletes and the communities they are drawn from,” Carroll said.

Cameron Murray, Acting CEO of Paralympics Australia said: “We are absolutely thrilled to partner with Westfield, whose commitment to creating vibrant community hubs aligns with our mission to connect more Australians with Paralympic sport.

“The potential of this partnership to enhance the visibility of the Australian Paralympic Team is immense. By transforming Westfield destinations into official Live Sites, we are ensuring fans around the country can experience the thrill of the Paralympic Games and support our incredible athletes in real-time.

“This collaboration with Westfield represents a groundbreaking opportunity to engage with a wider audience and foster a deeper connection between Australians and the Paralympic movement. We are excited to see our communities come together to celebrate the dedication and achievements of our Paralympic athletes.”

A full calendar of unmissable moments will be available at Westfield destinations from July through to September 2024. Scentre Group’s partnership with the Australian Olympic Committee and Paralympics Australia will also extend to the 2026 Milan Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
