The suburbs surrounding The Square Mirrabooka make up one of the most multicultural areas in Australia. Harmony week is an opportunity to celebrate diversity in Australia and build a harmonious community.
In the spirit of Harmony, schools, community organisations, local council, government agencies and local businesses joined together last week to bring a vibrant day of family-friendly fun, cultural entertainment and community services to the local community.

Authentic cultural entertainment included an African Akwaaba drumming circle, a Neapolitan Tenor, Korean and Brazilian dancing, along with musical performances from local primary and high schools.

“Harmony Week highlights the City of Stirling’s amazing cultural diversity,” said Allana Edwards, Centre Manager of The Square Mirrabooka.

She said, “As part of one of Australia’s most culturally diverse regions, The Square Mirrabooka has been collaborating with the City of Stirling and local community groups for a number of years and embraces the diversity of local community groups and businesses that neighbour the centre for the Harmony Week celebrations.

“Not only is The Square Mirrabooka focused on being a community hub for the area, we also embrace and celebrate the unique cultural diversity that we have. We are proud to participate each year in the annual Harmony Week community event that unites people from all backgrounds”, she said.
