Christmas may have come and gone, but the fun is just getting started at Perth’s Cockburn Gateway with the launch of its Summer Festival.
Throughout the summer holidays, the activity-filled festival will see an outdoor cinema pop up in the shopping centre’s piazza where family-friendly Disney movies, including classics such as Enchanted and Alice in Wonderland, will air in twilight sessions over a two-week period in January.
Located in the piazza, guests can sit back, relax and enjoy their twilight cinematic sessions from the comfort of an array of beanbags, deck chairs and picnic rugs.
Surrounding dining retailers will take care of hungry guests by providing exclusive dining offers from the likes of Grill’d and San Churro.
Cockburn Gateway Centre Manager, Alexandra McAuliffe said they are looking forward to welcoming guests to the Summer Festival these school holidays.
“The outdoor grassed area is the perfect location for a pop-up cinema. Our guests will enjoy some family favourite movies and can pop over to our dining retailers to pick up some dinner specials – the perfect way to spend the summer holidays,” said McAuliffe.
A holistic experience, patrons can also enjoy roving entertainment, local buskers, face painting, giant grass games and more.
In addition to the outdoor cinema activation, a pop-up Arcade Zone will be located inside the shopping centre near Big W featuring games including basketball, bowling and hook-a-duck, plus a unique augmented reality game ‘Fruit Ninja’. Arcade champions will receive an array of exciting prizes.
Cockburn Gateway is also inviting shoppers to get involved in a social media competition by snapping a photo at their favourite experience and sharing for the chance to win a $250 Cockburn Gateway gift card.
A small booking fee of $5 pp or $15 for a family is required to secure a spot at the outdoor cinema, with all proceeds going to their local charity partner the Cockburn Toy Library.
