An intergenerational program, designed to increase the IT literacy of older Australians and the communication and employment skills of younger Australians, will run as a pilot program at Stockland Baldivis.

The program, run by Youngster.co, tackles loneliness and isolation as well as social issues such as youth unemployment.

Brooke Lee, General Manager, Commercial Property Marketing said Stockland Baldivis was delighted to play host to the program.

“Youngster.co’s program bridges the gap between generations giving our older customers personalised tech help and our younger customers valuable life skills and work experience.

“The Youngster.co program encourages the Baldivis community to come together to prevent social isolation and enhance wellbeing and complements our purpose that, we believe there is a better way to live,” Lee said.

The program launched at Stockland Baldivis this week and sessions will run every Saturday from 10am-12pm

Tony Rothacker, Co-founder, Youngster.co said it was terrific to have Stockland pilot the program in two Retail Town Centres.

“Youngster.Co’s ambition is to foster a world where elders are engaged and respected while younger people are valued, have meaningful jobs and feel part of a vibrant community.

“We are on a mission to create one million connections by 2025 and pilot programs like the one at Stockland Baldivis help us get closer to our goal,” Rothacker said.

The program launched at Stockland Baldivis week commencing 11 June where sessions will run every Saturday for 12 months from 10am-12pm.
