Classic arcade games meets the sophisticated gameplay of today at Stockland Merrylands in Sydney’s west during the school holidays, providing customers of all ages with an exclusive opportunity to experience two highly interactive gaming zones at the town centre.
From Monday 30 September to Sunday 13 October, customers will have a chance to explore Arcade Alley which will include a series of gaming workshops and masterclasses, immersive experiences and character meet and greets.
Michelle Thomas, Centre Manager at Stockland Merrylands, said that Arcade Alley will be a special mix of nostalgia and novelty that will transform the centre into a fun destination that pays homage to past and future technology.
“We are so pleased to offer our customers a uniquely retro retail experience through a series of arcade games, coding workshops and masterclasses, virtual reality, chances to win great prizes and so much more.
“We wanted to do something special at the centre that would engage the local community and provide them with an experience that is memorable and resonates with them.
“We hope that Arcade Alley can serve as an arena for conversation; a place where the young and young at heart can connect with one another over a shared appreciation for gaming.”
Zone 1 will be located opposite Target and will offer coding workshops and masterclasses, a gaming lounge featuring Nintendo and a virtual reality gaming experience. The workshops and masterclasses are free but advanced booking is required and spaces are limited.
Zone 2 will be located opposite JB Hi-Fi and will have a number of retro arcade favourites on offer. Customers can also play a newly designed phone game via QR code for a chance to win a $100 JB Hi-Fi gift card.
