In support of this year’s Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival, Stockland transformed its assets across Sydney with bold, futuristic designs and activations to celebrate the festival’s theme ‘Our Future’.

Stockland’s workplaces at North Ryde, Macquarie Park and St Leonards, as well as Stockland Piccadilly in Sydney’s CBD, brought the campaign to life with the installation of ‘party’ lifts and disco-themed decorations.

Piccadilly shopping centre – located below the Stockland office building in Sydney – also hosted a series of fun activations including a DJ and dancefloor, a visit from two fabulous drag queens, and giveaways for customers.

Stockland Asset Manager, Workplace and Logistics, Lisa Vaughan said the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival was an opportunity to champion our values.

“At Stockland, we’re focused on creating places that celebrate diversity and promote inclusion. This means continuing to build a culture where everyone is respected, valued, and supported, and where people feel like they can be their authentic self,” Vaughan said.

“We get the best from our people and maximise their potential when we celebrate diversity, whether that be differences such as gender, ethnicity, age, physical abilities, sexual orientation, family status and beliefs.

“It’s been great to see so many of our people and customers enjoy Stockland’s celebrations across Sydney,” Vaughan added.

Since 2017, Stockland has had an active employee advocacy group dedicated to improving LGBTQ+ inclusion in its organisation and communities, with more than 200 employees registered LGBTQ+ allies.

Stockland was a finalist at the Shopping Centre Council of Australia’s 2023 Marketing Awards for Compelling Experiences: Small (75 stores or less) with last year’s Sydney World Pride campaign at Stockland Piccadilly.

In recognition of its ongoing focus to create a vibrant and inclusive workforce, Stockland has also received Silver Status as an LGBTQ+ employer from Pride In Diversity, Australia’s national not-for-profit employer support program for all aspects of LGBTQ workplace inclusion.
