In support of Sydney’s first WorldPride celebrations, Stockland Piccadilly, located in Sydney’s CBD, has worked with First Nations artist, Janelle Burger, on illustrations installed throughout the shopping centre and workplace tower.
In line with this year’s WorldPride theme, ‘gather, dream, amplify’, the diverse and inclusive designs feature people celebrating WorldPride with the trans flag, progress pride flag, and Aboriginal flag.
Stockland Piccadilly customers can see the campaign with rainbow decals on the centre’s staircases and pillars, as well as life-size installations of the illustrations on the upper ground floor, food court, and lifts.

Stockland Asset Manager, Workplace and Logistics, Lisa Vaughan said it’s exciting to be involved in Sydney’s first WorldPride celebrations.
“Stockland’s support of WorldPride demonstrates our wider commitment to enhancing diversity and inclusion in our workplace and the community,” said Vaughan.
“We get the best from our people when we appreciate that different backgrounds, gender identities, ethnicity, physical abilities, and sexual orientation bring diversity of thoughts and ideas.
“We wanted our WorldPride designs to capture this diversity, which Janelle Burger has done so well,”
Artist Janelle Burger said her illustrations for WorldPride are a tribute to the Australian LGBTQ+ community and can be enjoyed by audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
“I’m an advocate for marginalised groups and I want to use my art to raise awareness to promote acceptance of people from different backgrounds, races, cultures, and sexuality,” Burger said. “Let’s celebrate love, equality, and unity. Happy Pride month!”
Customers can view the installations at Stockland Piccadilly, 210 Pitt Street, Sydney (between Park St and Market St) until Sunday 5 March 2023.
The artwork will also appear on digital displays at other Stockland shopping centres in NSW, including Wetherill Park, Merrylands, Balgowlah, Green Hills, Shellharbour, Nowra, and Glendale.

In addition to Stockland’s office in Sydney’s CBD, decorations are also underway for the foyers at Stockland’s St Leonards and Macquarie Park workplaces.
Since 2017, Stockland has had an active employee advocacy group dedicated to improving LGBTQ+ inclusion in the organisation and communities, with more than 200 of its employees registered LGBTQ+ allies.
In recognition of its ongoing focus to create a vibrant and inclusive workforce, Stockland received a Silver Award from Pride In Diversity, Australia’s national not-for-profit employer support program for all aspects of LGBTQ workplace inclusion.
