Stockland Baldivis has partnered with the Baldivis Leos, the youth arm of the Lions Club, to launch a book swap location within the retail centre encouraging customers to re-home their pre-loved books, or simply enjoy the space and read with their family.

The Book Nook offers literature for all ages in a new and modern space for friends and family to relax and enjoy.

Clare Riley, Centre Manager at Stockland Baldivis, said, “We’re thrilled to partner with the Baldivis Leos and believe this initiative will make a lasting and meaningful impact in the lives of our customers and community. It’s also a great opportunity to inspire imagination and creativity, and to encourage new connections over a shared interest of reading.”

Luke Tammen, 13-year-old Project Leader at Baldivis Leos

Luke Tammen, 13-year-old Project Leader at Baldivis Leos said,  “I wanted to create the Book Nook to share my love for books and motivate others to read. Additionally, I believe it is a great way to encourage connection and socialising in the local community.”

Debbie Tierney, Leo Advisor at Lions Club Baldivis said “The Book Nook provides a family-oriented space where the community can enjoy reading a book. It’s also a learning opportunity for members of the Leo club, as they are working in a team to collectively bring a seamless service to the community.”

The Baldivis Leos will be sourcing ongoing book donations. Come swap a pre-loved book or explore a new story from the Book Nook, located outside Dusk, in the middle of the centre.
