St Ives Shopping Village shares a unique connection with its local community and their very loyal customer base in Sydney’s North Shore. To engage with their shoppers during the challenging lockdown period, the Centre launched the St.Art Photo and Art Competition to connect the community through art.
During the month of August, they asked their community ‘What has inspired you from nature during lockdown’? People of all ages were invited to submit either a photo or artwork to have the chance of winning a $100 Gift Voucher across three age groups.
Amy Edwards, Centre Manager says: “We are fortunate to have such a wonderful sense of community at St Ives Shopping Village and have been overwhelmed by not only the quality and quantity of the entries, but also the broad range of age groups who have participated. Our community loves to be involved and a competition like this really reinforces that ‘It Takes a Village’, especially during difficult times.”
St Ives Village were delighted with the response, with more than 270 entries showcasing beautiful Ku-ring-gai, which is surrounded by national parks and leafy streets. The exhibition is on display in the Gallery space, an area dedicated to displaying community and school artworks throughout the year.
Following the fantastic response received from participants and shoppers, plans for the school holidays are currently underway for later this month to keep kids entertained during lockdown.
