GPT’s Parkmore Shopping Centre is celebrating its 50th anniversary, taking locals on a trip down memory lane by bringing back nostalgic items from the centre to honour the past and cherish the memories of years gone by.
Opening on 27 November 1973, Parkmore is a regional shopping centre located in the outer south-eastern suburb of Keysborough in Melbourne. The centre services the suburbs of the City of Greater Dandenong such as Keysborough, Noble Park, Springvale as well as other local suburbs.
The Parkmore Milkbar, open from 11am until 2pm between Thursday 12 October and Sunday 22 October, is a blast from the past for shoppers, with limited edition 50th Anniversary ‘Parkmore Press’ newspapers, classic lolly bags and retro style Parkmore totes available to customers who spend a minimum of $30 at any store in Parkmore.
Old-school posters within the Parkmore Milkbar will showcase well-loved brand offers previously advertised in newspapers, taking shoppers along a journey to see how the retail experience at the centre has evolved.
Parkmore Shopping Centre Manager, Jodie Bush said: “While a lot has changed at Parkmore since 1973, the centre has proudly continued to provide local Keysborough shoppers with quick and convenient access to their everyday needs. We are thrilled to celebrate Parkmore’s 50th anniversary and recognise this important milestone by winding back the clock and taking shoppers on a journey with our exciting retro experience.”
To further the celebrations Parkmore will be hosting a lucky drip at the Milkbar to give away a range of current retailer goodies including Coles, JB Hi-Fi & Parkmore Gift Cards ranging from $10 to $100 in value.
