Every birthday is special and is a cause for a celebration – especially when the milestone is the big 3-0! QIC’s Hyperdome Shopping Centre in Brisbane is gearing up to celebrate its very own 30th birthday in August, putting the final preparations on a month of festivities and community activations as they plan to celebrate a little differently.
Hyperdome will be giving back to 30 local legends as part of its ’30 for 30’ campaign. The centre is encouraging the Logan community to nominate a ‘local legend’ ahead of its 30th birthday.
From Monday 1 July, Hyperdome is encouraging Logan residents to nominate a special someone in the community – a local Logan legend – who they believe deserves to be recognised, celebrated and ultimately rewarded.
It could be a teacher who consistently goes above and beyond; a selfless volunteer who donates their time and energy to a deserving cause; a much-loved friend or family member who’s been through a tough time, or is simply just a good soul; a supportive coach; a teammate; a colleague or even a neighbour – just someone you know who positively contributes to our wonderful community.
Nominations close on the 19 July with 30 finalists chosen, who will each receive a $300 prize, as well as being photographed and featured in an in-centre exhibition as part of the 30th birthday celebrations.
The campaign will culminate with a People’s Choice vote at the end of August, with one deserving winner taking home a massive $5,000 shopping voucher courtesy of Hyperdome.
Centre Manager of Hyperdome, Brian Turner, commented, “We are looking forward to kicking off our ‘30 for 30’ festivities in August and celebrating 30 years as a proud Logan locals. As part of the celebrations, we would like to thank our customers and the Logan community for their ongoing support over the years – they are the backbone of our Centre, after all.
“We couldn’t think of a more fitting way to give back to our locals than by putting the call out to the community to nominate a special someone who deserves to be honoured and rewarded – we want to celebrate these local heroes and encourage everyone to get behind this initiative.” he said.
