Forest Hill Chase Shopping Centre will continue to host free roller-skating sessions for kids beyond the school holidays, extending the popular activity to offer Melburnians a fun and affordable activity to beat the winter chill.
The custom-built roller-skating rink originally launched on Monday, 26 June, for a two-week school holiday activation, with 2,100 tickets booked out in just three days.
Although the school holidays are coming to an end, the ticketed indoor event will still be available for kids over six years of age to take part in on weekends, from Saturday 15th July – Sunday 30th July, and is located on Level 3 at The Loft – the shopping centre’s entertainment and dining precinct.
Ticketholders will start their retro skating session by entering the ‘Wonder Cube’; a room set to transport whoever enters to a glittery pink paradise featuring palm trees and disco balls. It is here that attendees will have the opportunity to take as many photos as possible together before entering the rink.
Once the Instagramming has concluded, participants will be able to hire their skates, free of charge, and enter the rink for 15 minutes of roller-skating fun with friends and siblings.
The roller-skating rink and Wonder Cube have been constructed specifically for the popular east-Melbourne shopping centre, with the rink inspired by the new Barbie movie. Design features include a light pink and green colour palette and retro checkerboard-style pattern.
The roller-skating rink aesthetic ties in perfectly with the upcoming HOYTS Barbie Girls’ Night Out event on Wednesday, 19th July, at Forest Hill Chase, which will include free nail polish applications by Nail Central, The Groove Train dining offers, and goodie bags for ticketholders.
