How can a sustainable garden improve your health and wellbeing? What are beneficial bugs and how can you attract them? How can you grow your own organic edible garden? How can you improve the air quality of your home? At The Patch at Erina Fair, you will uncover the answers.

A collaboration with Star 104.5 and the gardening experts at Mitre 10 Kincumber and Sustainable Education, The Patch activation is maximising on the growing trend around sustainability and aimed to get young ones involved in activities to help them with tips to lead a more sustainable life.

Resident gardeners hold free workshops daily for everyone whether they are a beginner or wanting to enhance your sustainable gardening knowledge. Topics include keeping native bees, bush tucker plants, seed saving, raising chickens, preserving and pickling produce and worm farming. Fun kids activities include vegetable painting, grass-head making and animal snack art. “We have already received some positive feedback from customers about the initiative, and our retailers seem happy with the foot traffic generated,” said Ross.

“As part of our activation, we’re also hoping to collect some much-needed donations for our farmers; suffering through what could be the worst drought in years. We will be matching public donations, with the goal of raising $10,000 for Rural Aid Australia.”
