Haben’s Croydon Central Shopping Centre continues to pay homage to a piece of its market history, hosting its second fun-filled Market Day on Sunday 21 January, with subsequent Market Days to be held up until April 2024.
Once a bustling food market established in the 1920s, the now-evolved shopping centre in Melbourne’s east played host to 35 pop-up stalls at the January Market Day event, where shoppers had the chance to browse through a variety of unique items for sale, including handmade jewellery, pet products, ceramics, kids’ clothing and homewares.
For those wanting a break from the hustle and bustle of the market, the centre’s urban dining hall, The Grove, is the place to enjoy the sweet tunes of an acoustic artist while grabbing a bite to eat.
For those wanting to try more than one cuisine, a $5 sample plate will be available from selected retailers in The Grove, exclusively on Market Days. Plus, families are eligible for ‘Kids Eat Free’ vouchers on the day, valid with any purchase of a main meal at participating retailers.
The Market Day offers a variety of activities to keep the kids busy too, with free children’s entertainment such as face painting and balloon twisting on offer.
Shoppers feeling particularly lucky can try their hand at Croydon Central’s ‘Spin & Win’ giveaway wheel in The Grove. Each spinner gets the chance to win a custom Croydon Central tote bag, a $20 The Grove gift card, coffee cards and sweet treats. All entries will go into the running to win the major draw prize of a $500 Croydon Central gift card.
Located on Kent Avenue, Croydon Central is at the heart of its local community. The centre is easily accessible, next to Croydon Railway Station, offering plenty of parking and all stores on the one level.
