Cockburn Gateway Shopping City are encouraging kids to “Pop it While it’s Hot” in support of the Autism Association of Western Australia (AAWA) by giving away ‘pop-its’ fidget keychains.

As part of the initiative, shoppers can satisfy their kids ‘pop-its’ obsession while raising funds for a worthy charity. At the same time, the move highlights the power of sensory toys for people with autism, working as a tool to help regulate and engage sensory systems.

Shoppers simply visit the info desk and make a gold coin donation to the Autism Association of Western Australia, to receive the weekly keychain.

Cockburn Gateway Centre Manager, Alexandra McAuliffe said that she was proud to be supporting such an important cause and help raise funds for West Australians living with Autism. “It’s great to be able to use these types of in-centre activations towards building awareness for people who need the additional support,” she said.

“We’re always looking for fun ways to engage and reward our customers, it’s even better when we can support a charity like the Autism Association of WA who do such amazing work in the community.”

From the 16th of August to the 21st of September, shoppers can give a gold coin donation in exchange for some highly addictive fun – or to keep the kids distracted while mum gets the shopping done.

To receive this gift, shoppers must be signed up to the Cockburn Gateway Kids Club.
