AFC Curated is a unique retail & business development platform from the Australian Fashion Council (AFC), presented by Vicinity Centres. Since 2017, AFC Curated has delivered premium retail spaces across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Hong Kong, showcasing over 60 Australian designers.

The year long program supports the growth of Australia’s most exciting and innovative designers, providing retail experience and exposure, tailored small business workshops, one-on-one mentorship with industry experts and connection to a collaborative community of industry peers.

AFC and Vicinity partner to support Australian fashion designers

This March, AFC Curated returns to Emporium Melbourne with a new line-up of independent Australian designers and a series of in-store industry events as part of the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival’s (VAMFF) Ideas Program.

“I am thrilled at the calibre and diversity of the participants selected for this year’s program, which features an eclectic mix of fashion accessories as well as men’s and women’s apparel. With a heightened focus on environmentally and ethically conscious creativity, 2020’s AFC Curated represents the potential of Australia to be renowned for its leadership and resourcefulness in creating beautifully and sustainably made designs.” said Leila Naja Hibri, CEO, Australian Fashion Council

AFC Curated is a collaboration between Industry. A destination for Australian grown design, and a melting pot for building communities that support the growth of world class brands. Thanks to a host of industry collaborators and the support of our presenting partners Vicinity Centres, what our labels gain is immeasurable.

Promoting local fashion

“In partnering with us and supporting AFC Curated, Vicinity Centres have shown, yet again, their commitment to local talent and their vision in being great advocates of the Australian fashion industry.” – Leila Naja Hibri, CEO, Australian Fashion Council

“Our national partnership with the Australian Fashion Council reflects Vicinity’s continued commitment to established and emerging fashion artisans. Melbourne’s standing as the fashion and cultural capital of Australia and Emporium Melbourne’s depth of Australian fashion designers makes it the obvious choice to launch AFC Curated again in 2020. We’re thrilled to continue the partnership, which has proven to be a mutual success connecting our customers with some of the country’s best emerging designers.” said David Henderson, Marketing Director, Vicinity Centres.

From bespoke craftsmanship, to sustainable materials and innovative design approaches. AFC Curated invites customers to meet the designers in person, connect with their stories, and shop their ranges; many pieces of which you won’t find anywhere else. AFC Curated at Emporium Melbourne this March from the 4th to 15th, with a host of Australian designers and series of industry panels as part of the VAMFF Ideas Program.
