Meriton unveils Mascot Central retail precinct
Mascot Central Retail Precinct is a new, outdoor-style urban retail precinct and local shopping hub for the rapidly growing Mascot community.
The 5,000m2 Meriton retail development will host 17 food and lifestyle specialty retailers including a brand-new Woolworths.
“This is by far the most exciting Meriton retail development to date and we believe it will bring a vibrant marketplace atmosphere to this once-industrial area,” says Meriton founder and managing director Harry Triguboff. “It also offers a new standard of residence for the more than 1,200 apartments surrounding it, providing residents every possible convenience.”
The Mascot Central Retail Precinct is Meriton’s largest retail development to date and the first to include a full line Woolworths supermarket. It marks a new direction for Meriton, with a renewed focus on supporting tenants and bringing in a stronger retailer offering to its developments.
Andrew Mednick, Meriton’s Head of Commercial Property, says, “We’ve deliberately moved away from the traditional indoor, fluorescent-lit style of centre to create a welcoming, open, landscaped precinct for the retailers, local residents and visitors. Our retailers are excited about being part of it and the reinvigoration of this burgeoning suburb of Sydney.” SCN
