Retail Incubation Programme:
An opportunity for local businesses to workshop their potential
Scentre Group has launched a ‘Retail Incubation Programme’ for local food entrepreneurs in WA. Some of the participants are businesses who have built fantastic online presence and sold via markets, food trucks but have yet to move into permanent traditional retail.
The Programme offers access to industry experts in areas including digital marketing, customer service, visual merchandising, legal and financial, plus a selection of local guest speakers. Prominent Perth business commentator and motivational speaker Samantha Reece hosted the two-day workshop.
Following the workshop, there is an opportunity to trial a pop-up retail stand at Westfield Whitford City, Carousel and Innaloo. The programme is entirely funded by Scentre Group, therefore making it free of charge to the local businesses who participate.
Roy Gruenpeter, General Manager of Development & Asset Management said, “Scentre Group is committed to ongoing investment in shopping centre redevelopment in Western Australia with a $1-billion dollar development pipeline for Westfield Carousel, Innaloo and Whitford City which will change the face of retail in WA. With this comes a focus on our future retail offering.
The Retail Incubation Programme is the start of our exploring what the local retailers need and it helps us ensure our future developments provide a place for local retailers to thrive.”
