On 24 August Pacific Fair celebrated its 40th birthday with a doughnut giveaway for customers and a prize draw for 40 lucky finalists in a competition.

In the lead-up to the day Pacific Fair, in conjunction with the Gold Coast Bulletin, ran a ‘Share your Pacific Fair Memories’ competition where customers submitted a photo of their favourite memories of the centre to go into the draw to win a share in $16,000 worth of prizes. The 40 finalists came into the centre on the day for a prize draw. They chose an envelope from the wall of 400 envelopes which contained prizes ranging from gift cards to beauty packs, 40 free movies, an iPad to a year gym membership and the grand prize worth $4,000. The lucky winner, Ariana Rappolt, a 20-year-old local, was stunned that she won the major prize which included a $3,000 Pacific Fair Gift Card, and was planning on spending it on luxury shoes! On top of this, there were 10,000 Krispy Kreme doughnuts up for grabs!

Over the years Pacific Fair has reinvented itself from an amusement-inspired shopping centre to the well-loved ‘pink palace’ of the 90s to the iconic shopping, dining and leisure destination it is today. Pacific Fair is now the largest shopping centre in Queensland with over 400 stores – an unparalleled mix of Australian designers, leading leisure and lifestyle brands, iconic global luxury brands and international high-street stores.
