Greensborough Plaza is an active participant in National Tree Day, Australia’s largest community tree planting and nature protection event. The national event was co-founded in 1996 by Planet Ark and Olivia Newton-John and since then, 25 million trees have been planted. National Tree Day on the 28 July is a call to action for Australians to help Planet Ark plant one million new native trees and shrubs across the country.
We’ve set ourselves a goal to plant 1,200 trees, so we encourage the local community to take part in our free National Tree Day events. With two National Tree Day events designed for children and adults, we view this day as a great opportunity for people to get back to nature and help ‘green’ the local area.” said Simone Dirckze, Centre Manager at Greensborough Plaza.
At one of the ‘hands-on’ event, you’ll feel, learn and experience planting your very own Golden Wattle Tree. After each 20-minute session, everyone will take home a biodegradable seedling tray complete with six individual cups and seeds, armed with all the information needed to nurture and grow them at home. Register your email address, and you’ll receive regular ‘handy tips’ on caring for your Golden Wattle tree.
