On May 30, the Australian fashion industry’s most notable names descended on Circular Quay for AMP Capital’s and the Australian Fashion Chamber’s (AFC) annual party.
The event, hosted by Edwina McCann, Chair of the AFC & Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Australia, was held atop the heritage-listed AMP Building. The event was in celebration of the AFC’s third anniversary and treated guests to uninterrupted views of Sydney Harbour and the Vivid Festival light show.
Australia’s most fashionable export, famed costume designer and stylist Catherine Baba, flew in direct from the Cannes Film Festival to attend the event. The Paris-based icon of the fashion industry told the crowd that she still calls Australia home, and is passionate about the burgeoning fashion industry Down Under. Baba mentioned that she is “ultra-excited” to be a supporter of the AFC, and entertained guests with her colourful yet informative insights into the fashion industry and the Australian designers that are gracing the world stage.
The star-studded guest list included models of the moment Annabella Barber, Astrid Holler and Rosie Tupper, fashion designers Alice McCall, Bianca Spender, Camilla Freeman-Topper, Lillian Khallouf, Luke Sales, Margi Woods, Mikey Nolan, Pip Edwards and Tony Jones, and notable fashion stylist Romy Frydman.
