The unveiling of Westfield Newmarket’s $790 million transformation continues as Scentre Group announces 20 new stores and Auckland’s first rooftop dining precinct set to open throughout the month of October.
On October 3, the airbridge connecting the centre’s two buildings will open to welcome 20 new fashion and food retailers.
Providing the best in local and international fashion, the first round of retailers to open on level 2 next week include; Sass & Bide, Merchant 1948, Husk, Cue, Gorman, Scarpa, Tigerlily, Swarovski with Aje, Walker & Hall and Rodd & Gunn to follow. Other retailers opening across the centre include Platypus, Torpedo 7, Noel Leeming, Athlete’s foot and Bed Bath n’ Table.
Up on level 3 will be a mix of New Zealand’s favourite quick-food retailers; Mi & Chi, Mad Mex, Zeta Greek, Eat Indian, O & Bowl, Drama Ramen, Tank Juice, Selera, Poke House and The Carvery. KFC will also open this month.
The jewel in the crown, Westfield Newmarket’s rooftop dining and entertainment precinct will open to customers on 10 October. A vibrant outdoor oasis in the sky with views of the city, the precinct will offer a curated selection of new and first-to-market restaurants, always-on entertainment and a kids play area.
The highly-anticipated restaurant openings will include Inca, a new concept from acclaimed duo Nic Watt and Darren Johnson, White + Wong’s $ Sardine Cocktail Bar, Something & Social, New Zealand’s first The Bavarian restaurant by the Rockpool Dining Group along with Bodrum Market, Corner Burger, Island Gelato, Ippudo Ramen and New York Grill.
Following the success of the stage one unveiling which saw tens of thousands the doors across opening weekend, Scentre Group Chief Operating Officer Greg Miles said October was gearing up to be another defining month for the redevelopment.

Adding to Westfield Newmarket’s premium services, the centre has also launched its best-in-class Valet offer along with a first-to-market Hands-Free Shopping Service.
Hands-Free Shopping allows Valet customers to purchase and leave their items to be collected and delivered to their car. Both services will be available to Westfield Plus members as well non-members.
