Vicinity Centres and co-owners Perron Group have opened the first stage of The Glen’s $460-million redevelopment in Melbourne’s south east.

Opening fully leased, on schedule and on budget, the first stage incorporates a fresh food market hall including a new Aldi, Woolworths, Coles and 60 boutique food retailers and specialty stores.

CEO and Managing Director of Vicinity Centres, Angus McNaughton said: “We know our customers come from a diversity of cultures and are well travelled so we are excited to offer shoppers a true market hall experience that has been inspired by leading food destinations from around the world.”

The redevelopment of The Glen commenced in March 2017. The second stage – a new contemporary food gallery – will be unveiled in early 2018 and the centre’s complete transformation will complete by early 2020.

Expanding to approximately 78,000m2 of GLA, ‘The New Glen’ redevelopment is creating a local lifestyle and community destination where retail, dining and entertainment will deliver a premium customer experience.

The completed centre will include two dining precincts, a town square, a premium fashion mall with David Jones, international and Australian brands, along with an exciting collection of everyday fashion and lifestyle stores.
