Perth Airport is calling for food & beverage, travel essentials and specialty retailers to bid on 32 sites across its terminals which will form part of a significant refurbishment and refresh of the customer offering at Australia’s Western Hub.

Perth Airport Chief Commercial & Aviation Officer, Kate Holsgrove said that the airport was about to embark on a multi-billion-dollar private infrastructure development to deliver new terminal facilities, a new parallel runway, two new multi-storey car parks and an airport hotel which will change the face of Perth Airport over the next decade.

“Along with all the new development and terminal infrastructure we will also be upgrading the current terminals to ensure we are catering for our growing passenger numbers,” said Holsgrove.

“Perth Airport recorded more than 16.1 million passengers in FY 24, and we are still seeing more of our airline partners continue to either add or expand their services into Perth.

“To ensure we have the best offerings for our growing passenger base we will be refurbishing retail precincts across our terminals to ensure we are optimising the customer experience.”

Perth Airport’s Commercial team is looking to engage with potential partners via a Request for Proposals program for up to 32 sites totalling approximately 4,000m2 across Perth Airport’s four terminals – T1, T2, T3 and T4.

The available retail spaces are located throughout the terminals to maximise visibility and accessibility.

Terminal 1 International offers multiple commercial opportunities including an all-day restaurant & bar, a bar/café with scenic airfield views, and quick-service outlets, licensed café and dining venues together with several retail outlets that are suited to a broad range of specialty categories (including a unique opportunity for a multi-category offer in a refurbished pre-security departure precinct). These spaces are designed to not only cater to the culinary desires of passengers, but also to create memorable shopping and dining experiences.

Terminals 1 and 2 Domestic present additional leasing prospects for specialty and food & beverage retailers. These locations are positioned to capture the attention of passengers transiting through or departing from Perth Airport, ensuring convenience and satisfaction during their journey.

The Request for Proposals (RFP) process underscores Perth Airport’s commitment to fostering collaborative partnerships with retail industry leaders. It encourages innovation and creativity in retail concepts, aiming to set new benchmarks in airport retailing.

Interested parties are encouraged to engage with Perth Airport’s retail team to explore the RFP opportunities available before the RFP closes on 31 August 2024. The process is designed to be transparent and inclusive, ensuring that all proposals are evaluated based on their alignment with the airport’s strategic objectives and the overall enhancement of passenger experience.
