Yamanto Central shopping centre has launched its much-anticipated ‘YUManto’ outdoor casual dining precinct and children’s playscape this month. The undercover area offers diners the opportunity to enjoy the experience of outdoor dining in the comfort of a semi-enclosed area which overlooks the children’s playscape.

The YUManto precinct has been evolving since Yamanto Central shopping centre commenced trading in 2022 with the opening of restaurants, Pattysmiths and Sushi Hyo. Café 63 has now opened its doors offering its highly popular range of celebrity themed meals and drinks.

“We are delighted to officially open our outdoor YUManto dining precinct. Yamato Central outdoor dining is a wonderful environment for families and the local community to enjoy a get-together. The restaurants offer a great range of quality and affordable dining options for every budget,” JMK Retail General Manager, Vicki Leavy said.

“Our focus at Yamanto Central shopping centre is to provide a community hub where people can meet, eat, play and shop.

“Yamanto Central YUManto outdoor dining precinct not only provides a casual, affordable and enjoyable place for people to eat and catch up, it also delivers a much-needed space in Ipswich where people can bring their children and relax knowing they are playing right next door within sight.”

The Yamanto Central YUManto outdoor dining precinct is a key feature of the centre and is expected to change the way people dine in Ipswich.

“Yamanto Central offers the catchment its very first purpose-built precinct offering a unique dining experience like no other. For people working at Amberley and the surrounding areas, the dining precinct offers a place to meet in a relaxed dining environment where they can grab a cup of coffee in the morning or enjoy a hot meal with a range of beverage options for lunch, or a relaxed bite to eat at sundown with an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink with dinner,” Leavy said.

“For people traveling into the area via the Cunningham Highway, the centre provides a convenient place to take a break with a broad range of dining options.

“For local families, the dining precinct offers a casual family friendly alfresco dining experience – a much needed venue in the fast-growing area.”

The YUManto dining precinct comprises some 750m2 of architecturally designed outdoor undercover dining space. It is filled with modern comfortable contemporary seating, and punctuated with planters, gardens and ornate lighting leading out onto an open-air area. The total space is 1,200m2.

“The dining precinct allows for a variety of restaurants and food outlets, some of which are licensed. Dining is available from breakfast through to lunch and dinner, so there are plenty of options for every palate,” Leavy added.

“The dining precinct currently accommodates some 200 people and will eventually increase to over 300.

“What we love about our YUManto dining precinct is that it invokes a sense of backyard family warmth. Our aim is to provide an area which delivers a comfortable environment that boasts a backyard spirit; somewhere that can host the individual or family activities, amongst an eclectic mix of food offerings and spaces.

“The YUManto precinct will continue to naturally evolve as more restaurants are added. We want our shoppers and local community to be part of this evolution to ensure the space is immersed in local identity, spirit and character.”
