Westfield Whitford City’s $80 million redevelopment launched with the opening of its highly anticipated dining and entertainment hub.
Jointly owned by Scentre Group and GIC, the project commenced in August 2016 and sees Westfield Whitford City increase by approximately 5,600m2 to 85,000m2, with a total of 314 retailers on completion.
The beach-inspired destination is now home to a first-class Event Cinemas complex with V-Max and Gold Class as well as a diverse mix of food operators and unique local offerings, with Whitfords Brewing Co., WA’s first Hunter & Barrel, Jersey Jack Gelato, Guzman Y Gomez, Bangkok Brothers and East Village, to name a few.
The hub has been designed as a place for the community to come together with green spaces, water features and unique design elements creating a welcoming environment. An imaginative play area and regular live acoustic music gigs make it a destination for the whole family.
Scentre Group COO Greg Miles said: “This project is part of our broader investment in the West Australian market and is the first of our three redevelopments that will come to life over the next few years.
The Whitford City dining and entertainment hub will deliver a lifestyle offer not previously available in Perth’s north, and will set a new standard in our centres which we look forward to continuing with our subsequent projects at Westfield Carousel and Innaloo.”
Westfield Whitford City’s redevelopment will be followed by Westfield Carousel, currently underway and due for completion in late 2018 and Westfield Innaloo, which is due to commence in the first half of 2018.
