A highly anticipated precinct containing more than 15 new dining and entertainment retailers has opened in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, with the launch of Westfield Plenty Valley’s $80-million redevelopment on the 22 March.

Jointly owned by Scentre Group and Dexus Wholesale Property, the project was first announced in February 2017 and now sees Westfield Plenty Valley increase by over 10,300 square metres to around 62,500 sqm in size, with a total of 198 retailers on completion of all works.

New retailers are intertwined within the indoor and outdoor precinct, which includes Victoria’s first Italian Street Kitchen, ENA Greek Street Food, The Pancake Parlour, Dosa Hut, Grill’d Healthy Burgers, San Churro, the Sporting Globe, Tunzafun Xtreme and a new concept YMCA with occasional day care.

The entertainment offering also includes a first-class Village Cinemas complex, inclusive of Gold Class, Vpremium, Vmax and Vjunior, and opens in time for Easter.

Other food and lifestyle outlets opening at the centre include Martini & Co., Cielo Gelateria, Kinn Thai, Billy’s House, Angie’s Dumpling Bar, Fukutontei Ramen, Robinsons Bookshop, Classic Barber Shop, and All Cases.

Designed as a place for the community to come together whatever the weather, the new precinct features a central lawn, outdoor children’s play area, and stage for family entertainment, all housed around a feature river red gum tree.

“The new Westfield Plenty Valley precinct brings an unapparelled lifestyle experience to Melbourne’s northern suburbs, offering the local community a complete dining and lifestyle experience – all in the one place,” says Westfield Plenty Valley Centre Manager, Craig Tapping. “We have created a destination with our community in mind, both young and old, for every occasion.”

Coinciding with the launch, customers will see the opening of a new car park featuring more than 340 new spaces, bringing the total number of car parks available at the centre to about 2,650.

The celebrations are set to continue over launch weekend with giveaways, events and entertainment for customers to enjoy.
