Gold Coast residents get another exciting shopping experience with the opening of the $470 million redevelopment of Westfield Coomera announcing their opening date of Thursday 11 October – just in time for customers to spend big as the Christmas season starts.

Spanning over 59,000m2, the modern new centre will offer 140 specialty retail stores, including Coles, Woolworths, Kmart, Target, JB Hi-Fi, Rebel and Event Cinemas with Gold Class, as well as an impressive fashion retail mix including the likes of H&M and Universal Store.

Scentre Group is the owner and operator of Westfield in Australia and New Zealand. Westfield Coomera is Scentre Group’s first ‘greenfield’ development and will be delivered in joint venture with QICGRE.

Westfield Coomera will also deliver one of Gold Coast’s best dining, lifestyle and entertainment destinations with an exciting new retail line-up scheduled to open on the same day including the iPlay Adventure, a first in the Westfield portfolio. iPlay Adventure will feature Clip ‘N Climb, high-ropes course, roller-skating, laser tag, arcade games and more.

Food choices will be in abundance for locals including Tapworks Bar and Grill, Betty’s Burgers, Gelatissimo, Little Red Dumplings, Beach House Bar and Grill and Kamikaze Teppanyaki and Bar, just to name a few.

In addition The Backyard will open, a unique space designed to be a place for the community to come together, relax, socialise and play in a purpose-built 2,600m2 park. The Backyward will feature two play zones for different age groups, a BBQ area with picnic tables, an interactive water feature and play area and  scooter track.

“With 30 per cent of the centre’s footprint dedicated to dining, leisure and entertainment, Westfield Coomera reflects the evolution of our living centre design and will offer a unique customer experience which has never been on offer in the region before,” says Westfield Centre Manager, Lauren Frew.

“Westfield Coomera will be a place of discovery for families to come together, socialise and enjoy. We can’t wait to share in the excitement with our customers on October 11, and as more of our retailers open in time for Christmas”, adds Frew.

Westfield Coomera will feature 2,100 customer car spaces and Westfield’s Park+ parking management system. Park+ uses first-to-market licence plate technology to track parking without the need for a paper ticket, providing streamlined entry and exit for customers. Park+ makes parking easier, faster and smarter, meaning customers will spend less time parking and more time enjoying the destination.

Westfield Coomera will open on October 11 with a four-day festival of celebrations including live music, surprise and delight experiences, activations, night time fireworks and more.
