While other major capital cities remain in lockdown, Adelaide will become host to one of the biggest shopping weekend’s the city has ever seen from the 8th to 10th October.
Presented by VOGUE Australia, the event will see a take over of Rundle Mall and Rundle Street for the fourth time, with special activations and shopping offers stretching across clothing, skincare, homeware, jewellery and hospitality retailers. There will be more than 150 exclusive offers shoppers can take advantage of during the Festival, as well as unique in-store experiences.
Lord Mayor of Adelaide, Sandy Verschoor, said: “VOGUE Festival is a celebration of our iconic Australian fashion and beauty brands and it is so exciting to have it back in Rundle Mall and Rundle Street. Adelaide has a dynamic fashion scene and is home to some of the world’s leading designers and I encourage everyone to join me in Rundle Mall and experience it for themselves as this event is not to be missed.”
An array of exclusive in-store only offers and experiences will draw shoppers into the city to enjoy Adelaide’s premier shopping precinct during the event and embrace the big brands that occupy Rundle Mall and Rundle Street.
This year, VOGUE Festival will also be honouring one of Adelaide’s own who has entrenched himself in Australia’s fashion lexicon. Paul Vasileff of Paolo Sebastian has curated a retrospective of his fashion house’s designs to date.
Department store David Jones and the Myer Centre will have activations in place alongside retailers such as Jurlique and Tiffany & Co. David Jones will host a Friday evening soiree, including pop-up bars, Q&As with South Australian designers from Acler and Significant Other, live music and exclusive offers.
Myer Centre will hold three fashion parades across the Friday and Saturday to showcase the latest fashion, with a DJ spinning tunes and free ice-cream for shoppers in need of a quick sugar hit.
The VOGUE Festival suite will pop up and play host to brand favourites such as Camilla and Sephora, with a roster of exclusive experiences.
The official opening will be held in Gawler Place, Rundle Mall on Friday 8 October with a performance from Stellie and a confetti-soaked countdown. The stage will remain throughout the weekend, with local DJs taking up the decks and filling the Mall with not-to-be-missed beats.
Adelaide Economic Development Agency’s (AEDA) Rundle Mall Manager, Nicola Smith, says the three-day COVID safe program will showcase the city’s great shopping experiences. “VOGUE Festival is an extravaganza of all things fashion, fun and food, and will see Rundle Mall and Rundle Street come alive with colour.”
She said, “Shoppers will also have the opportunity to check out all of their favourite retailers, with fashion experiences, styling tips and more along the state’s premier shopping precinct.”
AEDA Chair Nikki Govan says the jam-packed program has been developed to capitalise on the international and national brands and South Australian favourites for which Rundle Mall and Rundle Street are known.
“We’ve got an exciting and fashion-filled line up for VOGUE Festival that will appeal to all ages and is designed to get us out and about enjoying all the things you can only find in the heart of the city,” she said.
Shoppers will be rewarded with an enticing gift-with-purchase at the VOGUE Festival Lobby if they spend $150 or more in a day during the Festival. The VOGUE Festival Lobby will be a one-stop-shop for all things VOGUE Festival, with a team on hand to provide information about all the offers, giveaways and activations taking place, as well as a VOGUE Festival Buggy to help keen shoppers carry their bags.
VOGUE Festival 2021 is a partnership between VOGUE Australia, Rundle Mall and the City of Adelaide and runs from Friday 8 to Sunday 10 October.
