Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products is celebrating the Dark Knight in a big way to honour Batman’s 85th anniversary. A landmark partnership with Vicinity Centres leads the way, bringing a series of unique activations to 17 retail destinations across Australia, creating interactive experiences that capture the spirit and legacy of the Dark Knight.

These activations range from visits by Batman characters, crafting stations to build customised Super Hero accessories and specially curated children’s play areas. Each Vicinity centre brings its own flair to the celebration, ensuring a diverse and engaging experience for Batman enthusiasts of all ages. A competition to win the ultimate theme park holiday is also on offer.

Andrew Bromell, Vice President of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products ANZ, expressed his excitement, stating, “This Batman’s 85th anniversary celebration is a testament to the character’s timeless appeal and his significant impact on pop culture. We are delighted to partner with Vicinity Centres to bring this activation to life across Australia. Each activation is designed to honour Batman’s legacy and offer fans a unique and interactive experience.”

The activations follow the resounding success of the recent event at Chadstone, which drew record crowds and captivated fans of all ages with Australian-first retail executions, including interactive exhibits and activities, and live performances from crowd favourite characters, including Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman.

Vicinity Centres General Manager, Brand and Marketing, Amy Wotton, said, “We are driven to shape meaningful places where people connect, and is there a better way to connect than while celebrating one of the most iconic Super Heroes of all time? Batman fans will be treated to a variety of in-centre activities complemented by our broad selection of retail, dining, and entertainment to provide a truly memorable experience.”

To continue the celebrations, Batman fans can also look forward to a range of new and exclusive consumer products available at retailers including BIG W, Kmart, Australia Post, ZING Pop Culture, Agoro and New Zealand Mint.

As part of the festivities, Batman in Concert is set to make its Australian debut. Presented by TEG Life Like Touring and TCG, in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment, this spectacular event will showcase the epic Batman (1989) film on the big screen, accompanied by some of Australia’s finest symphony orchestras performing the iconic Danny Elfman score.
