Castle Towers Centre Manager, Eddie Paynter, has confirmed that global apparel retailer, UNIQLO, will open at Castle Towers this December as part of the first chapter in the centre’s multi-staged redevelopment, which was featured in SCN earlier this year in QICGRE’s cover story.
To be situated on Level 2 alongside international and Australian brands, the 1,300m2 store will create more than 60 local jobs and stock the Japanese retailer’s full line-up of LifeWear apparel for men, women, kids and babies.
Paynter said Castle Towers remains committed to offering a best-in-class selection of brands for the centre’s loyal customers across all categories including fashion, food, home and lifestyle.
“Uniqlo’s arrival demonstrates the strength of Castle Towers to attract globally relevant brands as part of its ongoing evolution that will appeal to the Hills District,” he added.
Paynter said new development works are focused on providing convenience and everyday services for home and life, in line with the needs of customers arriving via the new north-west metro.
“We are looking forward to delivering a new level of convenience and accessibility via the new purpose-built pedestrian tunnel connecting the new food and lifestyle precinct for homewares, tech and services at Castle Towers to the metro station and bus interchange, the only direct link on the north west rail line,” he said.
As reported in SCN earlier this year, this rapid transit system, Australia’s largest public transport project costing some $8.4 billion, connects Rouse Hill to Chatswood via Castle Hill and Epping.
Castle Hill Metro station, located 25 metres below ground, incorporates a major bus interchange and expects traffic of about 30,000 people a day across the metro. The station links directly into Castle Towers via a retail mall feeding right into the heart of the centre at the entrance to the Coles Supermarket. This whole area, including the Coles Supermarket, will be refurbished and reconfigured, providing a seamless connection into the new metro link mall.
Castle Towers remains open for business while the centre is transformed during stage one of the redevelopment, with further retail partners to be announced in the coming weeks.
With UNIQLO Australia’s most recent store opening at Westfield Hurstville on the 19 September attracting a queue of 1,770 locals eager to be one of the first customers in store, similar crowds are expected at the Castle Towers store opening.
UNIQLO Castle Towers will take the retailer’s store count to 22 in Australia, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to growing Australia as a key market in the Asia-Pacific region through its unique shopping experience and world-class customer service.
A full line-up of LifeWear apparel for men, women, kids and babies will be on offer at both locations – LifeWear is apparel that comes from the Japanese values of simplicity, quality and longevity.
