A new shopping centre at Frasers Property Australia’s The Grove community in Tarneit in Melbourne’s west will see Woolworths as the anchoring supermarket tenant.

The retail section will feature a full-sized 4,000m2 Woolworths supermarket in addition to more than 20 retail outlets across a further 4,000m2 centre that includes a bakery, greengrocer, nail bar, pizza restaurant, Chemist Warehouse outlet and Anytime Fitness gym.

The Grove retail centre comprising two sections divided by Bethany Rd will be linked by a pedestrian crossing and reserve.

Facing the retail precinct across Bethany Rd will be a learn-to-swim school with a 25m pool, Hungry Jacks fast food outlet, service station and a car wash.

Construction is set to begin in mid-2024 and is expected to take two years to complete.

Sarah Bloom, General Manager Development Victoria, Frasers Property Australia says with a range of communities and facilities at The Grove already complete, the new retail centre will be the final jewel in the community’s crown.

“The Grove residents already enjoy easy access to schools, parks, playgrounds and wetlands within their community, and now the final piece of the convenience puzzle will slot into place with this new retail precinct,” she said.

There will be 260 car spaces for the retail precinct, and additional 60 spaces to service the swim school and adjacent tenants. Bus stops on either side of Bethany Rd will link through to the Tarneit and Werribee railway stations, ensuring convenient and seamless connections.

Many of the community’s parks, bike paths, playgrounds and wetlands are already complete, including 7 ha of waterways

Empire Properties will develop, construct and manage the new shopping centre on the adjacent site it purchased from Frasers Property in 2020.

Empire Properties founder Tony Masalkovski said The Grove retail precinct will be a striking addition to the shopping options in the area.

“We know the residents of The Grove have been eagerly awaiting their new shopping zone, and we’re excited to get started on delivering what will be the heart of this great community,” he said.

A mix of land, house-and-land packages and townhomes are available within the community, which is already well over 75% sold.
