Australian developer TOGA has announced Harris Farm Markets as the supermarket tenant at its new urban precinct, Wicks Place in Sydney’s Inner West.
Located at 186 Victoria Road, Marrickville, Harris Farm Markets will take up more than 1,800m2 of ground floor retail area and will anchor the retail centre as the primary tenant, complemented by three specialty food and beverage tenancies, which front Victoria Road.
Harris Farm Markets, a household name synonymous with quality and variety, will offer a diverse range of groceries, fresh produce, vegan and international products, meats and deli, seafood, bakery, and dairy and cheese, and is set to open in late 2024.
Wicks Place will be the third TOGA development to feature a Harris Farm Markets supermarket, in addition to Bondi Boheme and Surry Hills Village, which will also open in 2024.
As the first residential project in the transformation of Marrickville’s Victoria Road Precinct, Wicks Place will deliver 270 apartments, across five buildings, with boutique ground floor retail that overlooks Wicks Park, due for completion from March 2024.
Paul Shaw, Executive General Manager of Development at TOGA, said the announcement would come as welcome news to Wicks Place residents, as well as the local community.
“A home is about much more than a place to live, it’s about creating an environment where people can enjoy access to their everyday needs, which is why we think Wicks Place residents and the wider local Marrickville community will be excited to hear that Harris Farm will soon be opening its doors in the area.
“Our vision for Wicks Place is to create a dynamic and thriving urban precinct and we know Harris Farm will be a welcome addition to everything else that’s already on offer.”
The location of Wicks Place has been particularly popular among owner occupiers who make up nearly 80% of all buyers. First home buyers comprise approximately 30% of purchasers with most buyers being Inner West locals who have been attracted to Wicks Place due to the vibrant location.
Named as one of TimeOut’s top 10 coolest neighbourhoods in the world, Marrickville is home to hipster cafés and breweries, abundant green spaces, hatted restaurants, accessible transport links and is only seven kilometres from Sydney’s CBD. The recently opened Messina HQ, located just 400 meters from Wicks Place, has already attracted new visitors to the area as Marrickville’s landscape evolves.
MADE Marrickville, another TOGA development, which is set to be Australia’s first four-storey industrial space when it reaches completion in 2025, will further add to the vibrancy of the area, bringing additional creative and retail space to the Inner West.
