Christchurch locals will have spotted the ‘coming soon’ hoarding announcing the impending arrival of Chemist Warehouse at AMP Capital’s The Palms Shopping Centre. The new store, expected to open in spring, will have a footprint of more than 1,000m², making it New Zealand’s largest Chemist Warehouse inside a shopping centre.
The brand is rapidly expanding, with the current group of 21 stores (including three existing stores in Christchurch) expected to rise to hopefully 30 stores when Chemist Warehouse opens at The Palms late this year.
Keryn Ward, Centre Manager at The Palms Shopping Centre, said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming Chemist Warehouse to The Palms shortly. We are keeping our promise to our locals and loyal customers to add new tenancies to the mix, and Chemist Warehouse will be a very popular addition, with a hugely sought-after retail range and free prescription service that makes it a real destination in every location.”
Free prescriptions will be part of the offer at the new store
New Zealand Chemist Warehouse CEO Azman Haroon is excited to be bringing the Chemist Warehouse brand to the The Palms Shopping Centre, while also creating new jobs within the community.
“We are very pleased to be coming to The Palms and to be able to provide shoppers with even greater access to a fantastic range of fragrance, cosmetics, skincare, vitamins and supplements at the lowest prices,” Haroon said.
“Our free prescription offer will also be available at our The Palms store, meaning New Zealanders will not be charged the $5 prescription fee, a saving we are proud to be able to provide shoppers. Since 2017, we have saved Kiwis over $15 million,” he said.
