It’s been one year since Coles Supermarket commenced trading in the mixed-used development by Greenland Australia. Now complete, Lachlan’s Square Village combines everyday shopping and lifestyle needs with premium and casual dining options to create a highly desirable retail hub.

Lachlan’s Square Village is a new shopping centre in the Lachlan’s Line development precinct at Macquarie Park, North Ryde. The shopping centre forms part of a mixed-use development with the Coles supermarket, 17 specialty tenancies, 900 apartments, a community centre, parks and recreation areas.

The key to the centre’s growing popularity is convenience. Located directly beneath the apartments and with direct connection to the Metro North West Line, the development allows visitors to hop off the metro and walk straight into the centre via a pedestrian and cycle bridge. The integrated design was a finalist in The Urban Developer’s Excellence in Construction Innovation Award.

“Our ability to connect with and support local communities and businesses is what sets us apart,” said Daniel Song, Associate Director of Rook Partners.

“We understand the needs of our retailers, collaboratively developing dedicated leasing solutions that best meet the aspirations of businesses and the shoppers who frequent the centres.” he said.

The Metro Station, which opened in 2019, has been a game-changer for residents. Rook Partners leasing executive Paul Trachtenberg says that by 2024, the North West Line will link right through to Waterloo, cutting travel time from North Ryde to Town Hall to less than 30 minutes.

“The delivery of the long-awaited metro line and associated infrastructure has underpinned the area’s steady population growth. According to Location IQ figures, the trade area population is expected to grow by more than 60% over the next decade, reaching 31,830 residents.”

The NSW government has revealed its plan to transform Macquarie Park into an economic and employment powerhouse, adding more than 7,600 new homes to the area plus 14ha of new parks, squares, plazas, cycleways and 2.7ha of enhanced open space over the next two decades.

Managed by Rook Partners, Lachlan’s Square Village offers more than 5,000m2 of retail convenience and is now home to Liquorland, Snap Fitness, Leaf Café, Shoga Japanese Cuisine, Totally Male Barber, Chicken V, Saigon Summer, Hey Juice, Ocean Nails and Beauty and a pharmacy.
