Stockland has announced that it will undertake a $600,000 project at its Townsville centre in North Queensland. Construction will commence in early September 2020 and will involve reconfiguring a mid-mall section of the centre – from Skechers to The Coffee Emporium.
Local commercial construction company Phoenix Constructions has been appointed the contract for the project which will help to support approximately 15 jobs. The works are expected to be completed in early 2021.
Andrew Stallan, Centre Manager at Stockland Townsville, said: “The works in our mid-mall will make it easier to navigate through the centre, and will enhance the customer experience.”
“As part of the project, we will also be providing Ally Fashion with a new 360m2 tenancy space to trade from which means even more products on offer,” Stallan said.
Ally Fashion expressed that they’re excited to open a new store at Stockland Townsville. “With our continual success and growth, we have seen an expansion in our product ranges,” said Sandland.
“This includes three new labels, Ally Eco (products created from sustainable fabric), Institution the Label (one of a kind, designer pieces), and Minx Sleep (a range of cute and comfortable pyjama sets). We are looking forward to our new store being in a bigger space, and being able to offer our customers on-trend pieces at an affordable price” she said.
Stockland has also identified an opportunity for locals of all skillsets to get involved in adorning the blank hoarding, turning it into a community gallery-styled space that will be called the Love Townsville Exhibition.
“We want to inspire locals to get involved in designing a space that is truly localised and reflects the place where they live, work, shop and play,” said Stallan.
He continued “Some of the murals will be created by local customers and school children, while another section will call on local street artist Kennie Deaner to craft unique designs that embody Townsville and what it means to be part of the community. Our aim is to create a space that is curated to our customers and feels personalised to their experiences and lives.”
