Scentre Group to deliver $53m rooftop dining & leisure precinct at Westfield Mt Druitt

Scentre Group and its joint venture partner Dexus Wholesale Property Fund today announced a $53 million redevelopment at Westfield Mt Druitt that will bring the community an unparalleled rooftop dining and leisure precinct and a carpark upgrade.  

Westfield Mt Druitt’s new rooftop precinct will be home to 11 new restaurants and a large-scale entertainment offer, as well as indoor and outdoor green spaces for customers to enjoy with communal dining tables, a children’s play area and a stage for live entertainment.

The more than 6,500m2 rooftop precinct will connect with the existing roof of Westfield Mt Druitt, adjacent to the recently upgraded Hoyts cinema to create an integrated entertainment experience and the ultimate space for families, young couples and singles to dine, play and enjoy the indoor and outdoor oasis.

The redevelopment will also focus on bringing an enhanced parking experience to customers with improved navigation and design elements, making it easier for customers to find a parking spot.

Customers can see a film, enjoy a meal or simply relax in the sunshine in a curated space that has been purposefully designed to suit their needs.”

Along with improvements to the fresh food precinct and food court area, the new rooftop dining and leisure offering will deliver a vibrant living centre for our customers at Westfield Mt Druitt.

Designed specifically for the local customer, the space will be light and airy with comfortable dining spaces and weather protectionso it can be enjoyed all year round. The use of natural materials and lush greenery will create a laid back and welcoming atmosphere, with ambient lighting creating atmosphere in the eveningand locally commissioned artwork and street art creating bursts of colour.

Westfield Mt Druitt is a significant community hub in its growing trade area. In the 2019 Big Guns Report, the centre ranked 23rd with a sales productivity of $7,900 MAT/m2.

Construction of the Westfield Mount Druitt dining and leisure precinct is due to begin before the end of the year, with completion anticipated at the end of 2020.
