Peter Huddle, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Vicinity Centres, has been elected as the new Co-Deputy Chair of the Shopping Centre Council of Australia (SCCA).
This follows the resignation of Michael O’Brien, QIC, from the role, given his appointment as President of the PCA.
Huddle joins SCCA Chairman, Anthony Mellowes, CEO of Region Group; and SCCA Co-Deputy Chair, Elliott Rusanow, CEO of Scentre Group, as part of the SCCA’s leadership group, who were elected in August 2022.
“I’m incredibly pleased that Peter has been elected as SCCA Co-Deputy Chair,” said Mellowes.
“Peter has a longstanding association with the SCCA and a detailed understanding of the material impacts of government policy and regulation on our industry.
“Our industry has a range of critical policy and legislative reviews taking place, including on retail leasing, privacy, energy and community safety issues.
“I look forward to working with Elliott and Peter as the SCCA continues its sharp focus on material issues and providing our members with superior value for money.
“I thank Michael O’Brien for his contribution to the SCCA as Co-Deputy Chair.”
