Property Council WA has celebrated its 50th birthday with its annual awards gala featuring 32 awards for excellence in engagement, marketing, management, sustainability, leasing, refurbishment, innovation and performance.

Primewest Commercial Leasing Manager Jemma Hutchinson won the prestigious Office Agent of the Year (in sales and/or leasing) and Raine & Horne Commercial industrial veteran Anthony Vulinovich took out the Industrial Agent of the Year.

Also honoured were JLL’s Katherine Cromie, crowned Commercial Property Manager of the Year, and Dexus’ Jackie Hitchens, who collected the Commercial Facilities Manager of the Year Award.

Steven Yovich, a former WA division president, was awarded Honorary Life Membership of the Property Council.

Property Council WA Executive Director Sandra Brewer said the industry advocate started life as the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) in 1969, when Australia’s population was just 12 million, with a focus on commercial buildings. “Our population has more than doubled and the Property Council now champions all property asset classes to create strong communities and great Australian cities.”

Brewer said. “Advocating for our members is at the heart of all we do. This week we have been celebrating our shared achievements by adding hashtag #iworkinproperty to our photos and posts. “Each category in the 2019 awards was hotly contested, making it an agonising decision for our judges.”

Property Council WA President Scott Nugent, also Divisional Development Manager of AMP Capital, said “The Honorary Life Member accolade was awarded for service not just to the Property Council but to the property industry in general. Yovich was instrumental in coaxing others to adopt a national structure and make the transition to Property Council.”
