Auckland Airport’s premium outlet shopping centre, Mānawa Bay, is now open. The centre, created to connect Kiwis with global and local brands at discount prices, is home to almost 100 brands.
Popular retailers Lindt, Hoka, Guess, Gant and Timeless Watches, have opened their first ever stores in Aotearoa. Global icons Kate Spade, Swarovski, Michael Kors and Helly Hansen have opened their first and only ‘outlet’ shops in the country, while much-loved megabrands Nike, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger open their largest New Zealand outlet stores to-date.
Ugg, Huffer, Dr Martens, Canterbury, Flo & Frankie, Bed Bath & Beyond, Lorna Jane, Bendon, Adidas, Coach, Country Road, Decjuba and Connor are among the many other notable names unveiling outlet stores.
Australian restaurant group, Soul Origin, have debuted a new location, alongside a roster of local hospitality favourites. These include the fresh tastes of Tank, Majestic Tea Bar and Wucha, housemade pastas from Needo, the vibrant flavours of HK Station, Tran’s Kitchen, Ko Ko Dak and Shamiana, and the unbeatable buns of Better Burger.

“We have an incredible selection of brands and exceptional cost savings for customers. With fantastic food and beverage options and a children’s play area, Mānawa Bay is an experience for customers, families, tourists and locals to enjoy.”
Nestled on the water’s edge of Manukau Harbour and overlooking the mangroves for which it is named (‘Mānawa’ being one of the te reo Māori words for mangroves), the centre is amongst park-like grounds filled with more than 100,000 plants and trees.
Mānawa Bay has proudly achieved a 5 star Green Star Design rating – the first dedicated shopping centre to receive a Green Star rating for its design.
Sustainability initiatives Mānawa Bay is set to debut include an extensive rooftop solar system, which has been installed and once fully operational will inject 2.3 megawatts of renewable electricity into New Zealand’s grid per year. There is also a zero gas policy which is forecast to eliminate up to 57% of the greenhouse gas emissions from the centre’s kitchens.
Mānawa Bay supported more than 500 jobs while in construction, and is expected to create an estimated 750 jobs once fully operational.
