The brand new Logan Reserve Shopping Village officially opened its doors, offering Logan residents a new convenient choice in retail shopping.
Logan is situated between the City of Brisbane to the north and the City of Gold Coast to the south. Located at the intersection of Chambers Flat Road and Park Ridge Road in Logan Reserve, the new neighbourhood shopping centre features a full line 4,000m2 Woolworths supermarket with Direct to Boot drive thru facilities.
More than a dozen retailers have set up at the new centre, including BWS and Discount Chemist Outlet, as well as several specialty retailers, food operators, a 24 hour gym and a medical centre.
Woolworths State Development Manager Chris Sheehan said: “The development of Logan Reserve Shopping Village has been an important part of our ongoing investment in high-quality shopping experiences for Logan City Council residents.
“We’re delighted to celebrate the official opening of the centre, delivering a high quality and convenient shopping destination that meets the needs of the growing and evolving local community.
“It’s always a huge team effort to get these projects into the final stages. We’d like to thank Logan City Council and Logan Water for their support of this project along the way and the construction team who worked incredibly hard to deliver such a fantastic development,” said Sheehan.
At the heart of the Logan Reserve Shopping Village is a brand new Woolworths supermarket, offering innovative and convenient shopping solutions to local customers. The state-of-the-art store is stocked with an extensive range of fruit and vegetables, a selection of Australian meat and a great variety of local seafood available from the fish market.
The new supermarket has implemented a number of offerings to support the growing popularity of online orders. This includes a designated online area for team members to work through pick up and home delivery orders. There’s also eight dedicated drive thru bays for the Direct to Boot service, so locals can easily pick up their shop after placing their order online.
Leading the team is Sally Morrow, who has worked at Woolworths for more than 25 years. As Store Manager, Sally has been working with the team over the last few weeks to help prepare the store for its official opening.
“My team and I are excited to hit the ground running and offer local residents a new shopping experience,” she said. “A huge part of the journey to open our new store has been welcoming over 60 new team members from across the local community, as well as 50 team members who have moved from other stores.
Logan Reserve Shopping Village is targeting a 4-Star Green Star development rating, rated by the Green Building Council of Australia, with over 500 solar panels which will offset 20% of the supermarkets’ electricity usage.
