Scentre Group and joint venture partner Perron Group have announced a $21 million redevelopment at Westfield Woden. Due to open in early 2019, the central focus will be the introduction of a new dining precinct, which includes six restaurants.
Located on Bradley Street adjoining Westfield Woden’s HOYTS Cinema complex, the new dining precinct will offer residents, professionals and visitors an exciting mix of local and crowd favourite food retailers. Complementing the existing offering on Bradley Street, including Grill’d, Rashays and San Churro, the new precinct will have something for everyone throughout the day and into the evening, with late trading hours.
“We recognise there’s significant demand for an elevated dining experience within the Woden area. Our vision is to make Westfield Woden a vibrant dining destination; a place to gather, relax and enjoy with family, friends and colleagues during the day and into the evening”, says Malcolm Creswell, ACT Regional Manager Centre Experience, Scentre Group.
Rich in natural textures and abundant landscaping, the precinct is designed to make the most of Canberra’s climate all year round. Bradley Street will be reinvigorated with this highly engaging and vibrant precinct – with the retention of existing trees and an injection of greenery and pet friendly features – catering to all day diners as well as those hoping to enjoy the outdoors.
Warm and welcoming in atmosphere, the precinct will feature prominent lighting for night time ambience, as well as bursts of colour through locally commissioned Indigenous artwork and street art spanning the external walls of the precinct.
The redevelopment will also include upgrades to the food court and amenities to deliver a high quality, vibrant and thriving space. Updates include a variety of seating options to cater to all customers, the incorporation of phone and power recharge stations, ambient lighting and indoor planting.
Work is currently underway at Westfield Woden, with completion of the upgraded food court and amenities later this year. The broader redevelopment is due for completion in early 2019.
