Melbourne’s booming western corridor will soon have a new retail destination as the leasing commences on the 19,000m2 of retail space at the new Opalia Shopping Centre.
Colliers International’s Mike Crittenden, Stephanie Siadis and Adam Lester have been appointed to lease the new Opalia Shopping Centre within the Opalia Estate in Melton South, on behalf of Opalia Melton Pty Ltd.
“We are providing our new residents with an exciting range of shops and services right at their footstep with easy access and convenience,” George Georgiou, CEO of EIG Developments said.
The new neighbourhood centre will be anchored by Woolworths and Chemist Warehouse, and will also feature a range of speciality stores across 3,000m2 along with eight ‘mini majors’ and multiple pad site offerings.
“Opalia Shopping Centre will provide the growing local catchment with a significant and diverse range of convenient and daily need offerings, with the majors such as Woolworths and Chemist Warehouse supported by some 25 specialty retailers,” Crittenden said.
Further drivers of traffic to the centre will include popular family ‘drive-through’ restaurants, McDonalds and KFC, a car wash, day care centre, tavern, medical services and a fitness offering. The centre will be serviced by more than 600 on-grade car spaces.
Siadis said: “Opalia Shopping Centre is situated within a rapidly growing residential catchment, where there is a continued demand from consumers for quality daily need services and complementary food and beverage offerings. Convenient car parking and diverse amenity ensures return customers which assists in driving strong retail sales.”
Opalia Shopping Centre is due to open in September 2020.
