Catering to the families of Macarthur Square, who make up 60% of its customers, the centre celebrated the landing of its permanent indoor children’s play zone last week with special appearances by Peppa Pig, as well as face painting and balloon twisting. Located on Level 3 near the Coles Supermarket, the farm themed play zone, Paddock Play, reflects the agricultural heritage of the Macarthur region, designed exclusively for Macarthur Square’s toddlers and preschoolers aged up to seven years.

Paddock Play features activity panels, child play farm animals and hay bales, a farmhouse, climbing zone, rope play and slide. For parents and carers, the enclosed space features a timber style surround and bar seating with multiple USB ports.

Centre Manager, Trevor Hill said,  “We’re excited to be launching our first permanent children’s play area. We believe our most important customers – the children of Macarthur – will overwhelmingly welcome this addition to our centre. Parents and carers will also appreciate the new offering – while the kids play, they will be able to relax close by and enjoy the food and drinks on offer from nearby retailers.

“Paddock Play will provide children with hours of entertainment in a safe environment that encourages them to socialise, interact and learn through play. The Centre has been a community hub for the Macarthur Region for nearly 40 years. We’re always looking for new opportunities to meet the needs of our families.” said Hill.

Lendlease along with joint owners APPF Retail and the GPT Wholesale Shopping Centre Fund opened Maccarthur Square’s $240-million retail redevelopment in March 2017.
