Macarthur Square is celebrating its 40th birthday with a jam-packed schedule of food events, fashion and fun from 21 to 29 September. The birthday celebrations kick off with a weekend of sensory events – from styling sessions, grazing table workshop, make-up demonstrations to beauty pampering.

Trevor Hill, Centre Manager said “The exciting birthday celebrations at Macarthur Square are our way of thanking our customers and stores for their support over the past 40 years. We’re proud to be part of the Campbelltown-Macarthur community. We’ve certainly grown with the region, and we’re now home to over 280 major national and specialty stores. We’re looking forward to sharing more moments and creating new memories with the Campbelltown-Macarthur community in the decades to come.”

The centre will celebrate with fun for everyone

The centre is also running a competition to see if customers have what it takes to be an influencer by testing your social media skills at the #MACARTHURSTUDIO vlogging booth – set up with professional lighting, camera and editing equipment. Shop, Shoot, Share to Win a $500 gift card by creating a unique social video. Whether it’s a toy review or unboxing, testing this season’s beauty products, providing a beauty tip or trick or sharing your latest spring summer fashion find.

On Thursday 26 September, at Kellicar Lane there will be a birthday singalong where customers can enjoy a cuppa and some cake with special guest speaker, Lindy Deitz, General Manager of Campbelltown Council. In the evening, Camden-born, singer songwriter and winner of The Voice Australia 2016, Alfie Arcuri will take to centre stage for a special performance.

Shoppers can learn how to weave at a workshop

From 26 until 29 September, the centre will host four days of birthday fun for the whole family including life-sized colouring walls, face-painting, balloon twisting, a petting zoo and roving performers. Explore Macarthur Square and the Macarthur region’s heritage through a photographic display by The Campbelltown Airds Historical Society. Shoppers can learn how to weave at a workshop hosted by The Campbelltown Art Centre in collaboration Yirran Miigaydhu and be part of a community mural at the #FACESOFMACARTHUR photo wall or enter the ‘prize grab booth’ to claim ashare of over $10,000 in prizes.
