Lendlease has announced that it has started trialling new technology, a transparent LED mesh screen, at its shopping centre located in south west Sydney, Macarthur Square. The trial is in partnership with Techfront Australia, which procured and installed the transparent LED mesh screen.
At 5m x 2.8m, the screen at Macarthur Square is the largest retail transparent LED mesh screen in Australia. Macarthur Square is the only shopping centre in the country to offer this product as a marketing channel for retailers and brands.
The transparent LED mesh screen is a new addition to Lendlease’s broad range of Pop Up Media channels including experiential brand activations, 16 large format digital screens, banners, billboards, and floor and lift decals.
Sally Harding, General Manager Pop Up and Commercialisation said “The new screen, the first to market, will enhance customers’ experience at Macarthur Square. After the trial, we will look at expanding this technology across our shopping centres nationally.”
Located in Macarthur Square’s Kellicar Lane entrance, the transparent LED mesh screen is being used to give customers a dynamic and engaging first impression as they enter the centre.
The screen is 85% transparent, allowing light to filter through and adding to the space’s ambience. The screen uses less energy than projection and LCD screens, and is still visible under bright lights.
Based on the Centre’s annual foot traffic, content on the transparent LED mesh screen reaches 33,000 people daily.
