Located in Morwell in the Latrobe Valley area of Gippsland in South-Eastern Victoria, stage one of Juilliard Group of Companies-owned Mid Valley Shopping Centre redevelopment is now complete, with the opening of a new Rivers store on the 10 August 2019. The centre officially opened stage one of an extensive redevelopment and repositioning strategy in November 2018 and continues to add to the mix to finalise the strategy.
“It’s an exciting new chapter for Mid Valley Shopping Centre, the new retail openings have reinforced the centre’s dominant position as the preeminent centre in Gippsland. The popularity of the new retailers has exceeded our expectations and we look forward to alongside our partners at Village Entertainment unveiling a first class cinema complex later this year,” said Centre Manager, Sjaala Harbridge.
The redevelopment also included the opening of a 1,200m2 Cotton On Mega store in April 2019 and a 500m2 Kaisercraft store which opened in June 2019. The opening of the 500m2 Rivers store now completes stage one of their centre redevelopment. Discount department store Dimmeys also joined the refreshed retail mix. Cotton On Mega Store, Kaisercraft and Rivers are all new to Morwell, they have been well received by the local community.
The next stage of the redevelopment project is a million-dollar plus refurbishment of the centre’s existing Village Cinemas. Commencing early September and due to be completed in time for the Summer blockbuster period, this major redevelopment will include a complete refurbishment of the foyer and public areas, with an intimate lounge area and new carpets and drapes in the cinema auditorium. A state-of-the art Candy Bar will offer bespoke hot food offerings, while premium seating with more leg room will allow movie goers to lay back and relax.
Mid Valley Shopping Centre is the exclusive home in the Latrobe Valley region to the $300 million Noni B Group, which incorporates fashion retailers Noni B, Rivers, Katies, Be Me, Millers and Rockmans, bringing these popular, resilient brands together under the one roof.
Since the early 1990’s, the centre has been owned by the Juilliard Group of Companies whose strong commitment to the community will see them continue to invest into the growth and development of the Centre.
The redevelopment project is anticipated to generate more than 50 jobs during construction and approximately 40 new retail roles by completion over the next five years.
